Inspiration is all around us- in the texture of tree bark, moss on a brick wall, the angle of girders on a railroad bridge. A walk in the woods or by the side of the road will lead me to objects and images that spark my imagination- broken car reflectors, interesting stones, bird feathers, and the detritus of modern life we take for granted. My challenge is to find the precious in forgotten everyday objects we pass by without seeing. I take found objects and semiprecious stones and transform them into one of a kind art jewelry that references ancient adornments and the idea of the modern talisman.

I’m based in the Washington DC area, and my studio is located in a repurposed munitions factory. The Torpedo Factory Arts center in Alexandria Virginia is an artists’ cooperative; the free flow of ideas and the early 20th century architecture inspire me. My curiosity has lead me to explore a number of different jewelry techniques and processes, and I incorporate metal fabrication, enameling, stone setting, and fiber techniques in my work.
